I have been pretty nervous about my first course-content related update.
How on earth do I begin to explain what we do here? How do I manage to get into the little nooks and crannies of the work and it’s impact on me and us? How do I responsibly, authentically and clearly paint the picture?
There is a general difficulty that I have noticed in capturing precisely what some of our courses are about and off course; Slava Theater falls into this category! So it has been a difficult week with the update looming over my head.
In addition to this approaching update and my Indiegogo Campaign, each week a pre-determined group gets the pleasure of being responsible for fetching the milk, cheese and yoghurt from the farm up the road from us. The assigned group needs to be there before 7:30am to collect the necessary quantities of milk, cheese and yoghurt. Being the first week back and the coldest and iciest week yet, off course I was going to be one of the chosen ones!
I’m happy to report that although I had to clean yoghurt and milk buckets of “milk and yoghurt” cake-like substance from the cans and, despite the slippery ice, we made it without spilling any milk and breaking any bones! Pretty neat achievement I’d say!
Also, this week my check-in group was responsible for dinner-prep, which resulted in me spilling an ENTIRE bucket of water on the floor of the restaurant we devour our dinners at.
Lovely. Just lovely. (I forget how very graceful I tend to be)
To add insult to injury, when I got home to relax I discovered that it was Thursday (which means either cleaning day or house-meeting day, both equally dreaded events in my life here).
So this was no simple week with simple tasks. No ma’m!
I have decided to create a video to describe the course we had on the first week back, at first I was going to film myself talking about it but then I had a brain wave this afternoon during lunch time. I would get my fellow YIPPIES to explain what the course is and what it involved, because I’m pretty sure that my thoughts on the course would be covered in their views. And I was right.
I enjoyed taking all the footage and working on it this afternoon, I did it in my typical way of approaching life. I ambushed every person I asked, and it shows.
I love it. I would also like to mention that today was one of the busiest days at YIP and I am very proud that I was able to film and edit this today and I am no expert either!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! And don’t forget to favourite the video, like the post, comment and share if you are feeling inspired to do so!
Warm greetings from a slightly cold, slushy Swedish village! x
Here is a video that last year’s group put together. Gives visuals of what is spoken of so vaguely above!
